Asian Utilities & Communications Business Unit Builds Win-win Collaboration with Huawei Technologies

Recently, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s Asian utilities and communications business received a regional partner award from Huawei Technologies during their Southern Pacific Telco IT Industry Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Yim Jeng Ngon, senior business development manager, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure, was at the summit to receive the award.

While our partnership with Huawei Technologies is still in its early stages, the new utilities and communications collaboration builds upon our successful Safe City solution, which we launched at the end of last year. After seeing Intergraph G/Technology presentations and demos, Huawei’s solutions architect team was impressed with its network planning and asset management capabilities. Intergraph G/Technology’s capabilities left a great impression on the Huawei team, but it was our team’s customer commitment and technical aptitude that Huawei found even more impressive.

The working relationship between Huawei and Hexagon – and our recent partnership award – was forged on a project for NetLink Trust, Singapore’s leading fiber broadband provider. Since working on this project, Hexagon’s Asian utilities and communications business has been present with several new projects, including customizing a hosted environment to support telecommunication business operations and systems as well as providing G/Technology to smaller telecommunication operators across Asia.

Yim Jeng Ngon had this to say about the partnership and recent award, “We were pleasantly surprised to be recognized by Huawei because we have only begun our collaboration. I think that Huawei appreciates the fact that we are there to support their customers’ needs with our knowledge and expertise.”

As our relationship with Huawei continues to grow in Asia, Yim and Michael Seah, senior utilities and communications industry specialist, Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure, are collaborating with Huawei’s project teams on upcoming Intergraph G/Technology opportunities in Indonesia and Malaysia.
