Multi-Agency Coordination and Response Make Cities More Resilient

Extreme weather, acts of terrorism, large-scale emergencies, cybercrimes, festivals, and sporting events. The scale, complexity, and increasing frequency of these major incidents create significant operational challenges that threaten a city’s resiliency, economy, and safety. Compounding these incidents and issues is a steady rise in urban populations; the United Nations expects that cities around the world will add another than 2.5 billion people by 2050.

With rising populations and an increase in major incidents, public safety agencies and organizations are receiving more calls for service. Yet many operate with fewer people and smaller budgets amid an ever-changing mission scope.Today’s big cities and growing urban areas are at a critical moment.

To successfully address these challenges, local governments, public safety agencies, and emergency service organizations must learn new skills, adopt new technologies, and embrace new ways of tactically and strategically operating. If governments and agencies want to improve response capabilities and operational effectiveness, they will need work together at all levels, across all agencies. They will also need to coordinate incident management efforts with secondary and tertiary responders like utility companies, health services, transportation agencies, voluntary organizations, and community groups.

In an upcoming webinar, “Better Resilience with Coordinated Citywide Action and Multi-Agency Cooperation,” I will explore how technology can help governments and agencies overcome today’s biggest challenges. I will also discuss how cities are already using our Safe City solutions to coordinate resources with other agencies and improve operations.

During the webinar, you’ll discover how to:

  • Better identify risks, improve mitigation and response, and speed recovery for major incidents and events
  • Boost situational awareness and collaboration for all responders using a real-time common operating picture
  • Enhance services, operational outcomes, and public perception with accountability and transparency

Start building and improving your city’s resilience through citywide cooperation and multi-agency collaboration. Join on us on August 16 to learn more about Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure’s Safe City solutions and capabilities in the Asia-Pacific region.
