New Zealand Police Opens New Agile Development Center

In early May, the New Zealand Police officially opened the ICT Agile Development Centre (Agile Centre) at the Royal New Zealand Police College.

The Agile Centre’s opening followed close on the heels of the Mobility Innovation Lab and Experience Centre (Innovation Lab), which opened in late 2014. Supporting the Police’s visibility program, the Innovation Lab is where new ideas are conceptualized and tested. The new Agile Centre is where these ideas are implemented.

The Innovation Lab and Agile Centre feature Intergraph as a strategic partner of the New Zealand Police, working alongside with the agency on how best to use mobile tools and technology to meet the real-world challenges of modern policing – preventing crime and supporting victims of crime.

A partner of the law enforcement agency since 1996, Intergraph successfully deployed its Mobile Responder app on 10,000 handheld smart devices, helping to re-invent how the agency work while raising public safety and police productivity.

Andrew Munro, senior vice president of Asia Pacific, and Stephen Willson, country manager of New Zealand, represented Intergraph at the event along with senior representatives from Vodafone, Tait Communications, Wynward and Smudge.
