Police Analytics: Halton Regional Police Service Uses Business Intelligence to Improve Public Safety

In the latest issue of APCO Canada’s Wavelength magazine, Halton Regional Police Service’s Joseph Glover, police analytics coordinator, shares how the agency’s police analytics unit is leveraging business intelligence to improve operational effectiveness and service quality.

As part of the Greater Toronto Area in Ontario, the Halton Regional Police Service is one of Canada’s most forward-thinking law enforcement agencies. In 2014, the Halton Regional Police Service created a new law enforcement unit to mine and leverage agency-wide data, making its services more efficient and effective for the citizens within the region. Along with forming a new unit consisting of data scientists and programmers, Halton Regional Police Service decided to use Intergraph’s Business Intelligence for Public Safety to create a solution that would promote data-driven decision making.
